Prisoner security is a fundamental concern of the custodial officer. With prisoner security comes officer safety and the safety of a facility where danger is always present and violence can erupt at any moment. Prisoner security is mandated by law, directed by policy, and is an important consideration on both sides of the sally port.

This telecourse program examines several specific issues relating to prisoner security in a custody and/or detention environment.
