Protecting Our Transportation Systems

Transportation systems provide a “high payoff” target for terrorists who want to inflict both an emotional and economic impact on a population. Another terrorist attack on our transportation system would have a significant effect on our nation’s ability to conduct commerce and run our government— and it would severely restrict personal mobility.

While airport security has been hardened over the years, we must remain vigilant to prevent an airplane from being used as a weapon.
