On September 26, 1996, the Governor signed into law Assembly Bill 1562 sponsored by California Attorney General Dan Lungren. This law implements Californias version of Megans Law by providing the public with photographs and descriptive information on approximately 57,000 of the more that 70,000 individuals who have been previously convicted of committing sex crimes and are required to register their
whereabouts with local law enforcement. This telecourse will assist law enforcement agencies in implementing all aspects of Megans Law.
