Examines the current issues related to homelessness via a unique mix of service providers, peace officers, officers of the court, and former homeless people--all who have collaborated to provide insight and valuable tools for peace officers. Segments include dealing effectively and humanely with homeless, identifying and investigating crimes against the homeless, officer safety considerations, best practices and long-term strategies, and the case for respect, dignity and intervention. Meets the legislative madate on POST to develop a two-hour telecourse on crimes against homeless persons as established by Penal Code Section 13519.64.
