Because of the complex nature and duration of stalking cases, they can be some of the most challenging cases for law enforcement to investigate. Many of the actions committed by a stalker can interpreted as non-criminal, or put into other categories such as vandalism, harassment, or burglary.
This telecourse examines the crime of stalking and other crimes that constitute stalking behavior. Subject matter experts provide insight into the behavior of victims in these cases, and explore why victims are often reluctant to be forthcoming with law enforcement. The program also looks at the motivations of stalkers committing these crimes, and describes the four types of stalkers law enforcement may confront.
