Homicide investigation calls for law enforcement to perform at its best as a coordinated team. No single person no single action solves a murder. It is the collaborative effort of many skilled people under the direction of the lead investigators that gets the job done.
This program focuses on key topics of homicide investigations, including: the importance of dispatch, first responders, detectives, criminalist/crime lab personnel, the coroner or medical examiner, and the D.A.s office; effective crime scene preservation and management; the importance of information management (including media); courtroom preparation and the impact of the investigative process on prosecution; techniques for witness and suspect questioning; and, the importance of supervision and proper case management to the homicide investigation process.
