Newly revised with a Spanish language feature and special DVD packaging, this video educates victims about the investigative and criminal justice processes so that they may better understand and assist in the investigation and prosecution. Through the testimonials of victims of violent crimes, viewers gain insight into victims’ experience with the criminal justice system in key areas of: violent crime investigative procedures, step-by-step explanation of the criminal justice process, and courtroom proceedings.
Designed to be a tool and resource distributed to victims by law enforcement officers/investigators as well as victim advocacy groups, victim outreach programs, and providers of victim services. Agencies are encouraged to obtain additional free copies from POST to directly distribute to victims or victim agencies.
The DVD program is presented in English and Spanish languages, includes bilingual viewers' guides, and offers two viewing options:
